Fuel Module

I have a problem with my 99.5 fuel module in the fuel tank. The spring action slid jams so the fuel sender doesn’t work. I need to buy a new fuel module because the original is made out of plastic with a metal sleeve. The metal sleeve get gunned up and will not slide. The dealers want $450 for a new part. Will a gas module work? Gas module sell for $230 and they have a pump. Any ideas? Thanks!

Mine was all screwy too. If the sliding this is what is bothering you, just set the height you want it at and tighten it up. My tank is 14" deep from the seal face to the bottom. So I set my module at 13.5" deep. The metal sleeve on mine had all the tabs broken off. Dealer wanted $530 for the unit. I spend some time and energy instead making some stainless tabs. Definitely better than spending the cash.

If the plastic part is trashed and you need a new unit, PM Mike Holmen, I think he has a spare one kicking around he might sell you.

Thanks....The plastic is ok, it's just the metal that keeps sticking and the sender doesn't work. If that's all you did is screw the sheet metal screws so it doesn't slide, sounds good to me. I bought a FLOWSCAN, which works great, lots of good information.

I have a very good parts man at my dealership & he has saved me alot of $.I have replaced two of these tank modules & you need to return the old one to your dealer as there is a core charge.
