19.4 around town according to my trip computer but it may be a little less than that. In the end it works out to being cheaper then running a gas truck.

There are upgrades such as a a Smarty computer programmer that not only will give you more power, but increased mileage. Im getting 23-24 hiway. My friend with his 99 1500 Ram cries when I rub it in. He gets 11-12 hiway when towing his motorhome, the diesel would average 17-18 or so with a Smarty. You cant beat the longevity of the diesel, too, along with lower repair costs. Members here report mileage of as high as 600- 700 k with no engine repairs. Try THAT with a gasser.

mpg

I am getting 19-21 mpg mixed, 22-23 mpg, hwy. 235k on the clock. Smarty gave me about 1-1.5 mpg across the board. My biggest problem is keeping my foot out of it.

My truck does not even get close to that kind of fuel mileage.

I check mine by hand , Miles and gallons, no overhead computer on my truck.

I ran a straight hwy trip test about 1/4 tank then filled up again and calculated 18.9 mpg. But my average fill ups , mostly city and some highway I am getting 13.8-14.8. Last fill up was 393.5 mi when low fuellight came on, 28.45 gals , 13.8 mpg. Best I got on open highway pullin a 25' 5er was 12 mpg.
I wonder if mi speedo is caliprated right. The previous owner had it reflashed with the tire size thats on it know. There is a dealer reflash sticker under the hood and I called the dealer and its a speedo reflash , so I asume its correct.

Maybe I just get to much in town stop and go driveing . I wonder if a new VP44 would boost it to, Though mine has no symtoms of any problems. I have always run a fuel lube also.

Getting about 15 give or take, thats with a new vp44 and fass, mixed driving on 35's, can't beat that really, had a ford ranger 6cyl that was getting the same exact mileage, i am happy, but i want better, doing 4 inch exhaust within a week, and thinking of getting a smarty, should bring me to 16 steady.

Ulsd

I've noticed over a few months that mine has been going down steadily. I'm guessing it's a result of more ULSD making it into the stations.

I get 18 pretty much every tank. Right now, its a 50/50 city highway, and highway speeds are 120 km/h on average. I've broken 20 slowing it down by 10 km/h, could probably do better, but would start being a hazard on the road.

Will usually get about 17 to 19 on the Hwy. Going to the coast..
Paid $1.05 per litre (you do the math) last weekend.
Gas was $.99 per litre.

I get between 16-19 around town and if there isnt too much "stop and go." On the highway (empty), 20-21. Does much better than gas.

This time last year, diesel went up to $1.03 for about 2 1/2 months. For a good 7 weeks of that, gas was at $.759 (in Edmonton, anyway). It was just after I bought the truck.
