front wheel making noises
front wheel making noises
I have a noise coming from my driverside front wheel,it makes this noise whether i am in 4 wheel drive or 2 wheel drive.kind of makes a squalling, whiny chirpping sound under acceleration, and kind of metallic(tinny) sound under deaccleration. above 20 mph or so i am getting a vibration. anyone had this before?

Sounds like wheel bearing. Raise wheel off ground and shake for movement. More than 1/8 inch at outside of tire probablly indicates wheel bearing. Should be able to see.
Thanks Dozer! was't sure if it was the wheel bearing or maybe the front hub.once the weather warms up a little around here i will check it out, until then it can sit in the driveway.
Also, don;t forget sometimes the noises in the back sound like they are in the front.

sorry, forgot to tell you thats how i found out which wheel it was,had my dad come over and drive it while i listened to it from each side of the truck as he drove by. also when i had the frontend off the ground i rotated the tire, but no noise.really doesnt make any noise until about 10mph. or so, but definatly driverside front wheel.
