Front End Story

Thought I would share my recent front end story. I purchased my vehicle this past December with 97K miles. The steering has been a little off since purchase, keep having to correct the steering wheel while driving. Also sometimes the steering wheel is straight other times it has a 10 degree offset.

Now mind you, I find this wonderful site with loads of good information and experiences. Even got a laugh or two at some of your stories, not at you but with you, ok sometimes at you.

Fearing the worst, I am prepared to take on the infamous ball joint replacement. I took a copy of the front end checklist from the tech facts out to the truck and low and behold my problem is the tie rod end connecting the drag link to the pitman arm. $50 later life is good.

I will take lucky any day of the week.

I suppose the same problem on my 99 2500 DRAG LINK has a lot of play, also replacing the pitman arm very soon..
