Front end-less story!
Front end-less story!
DTR,
I have been up and down both this forum and the other one today. My constant issue of front end problems has me wanting to nuke the whole truck. I want to put blame at having a slight off set on my wheels but i have known so many trucks to go without issues. By 70K miles my entire front end has been rebuilt, some parts on the 2nd and 3rd time. I put on the dodge "new but not recalled" steering update (part # 52122362-AF) last Aug, followed by Dynatracks pro steer ball joints both upper and lower. That was all good for almost a year until now i noticed the outter tie rod(passenger side) has play in it and after a long trip, my front passenger tire is cupping!!!! At $360 a piece for both the tire and steering linkage its getting costly.
Questions:
A) Would the offset wheels create that much of a problem? I know it would on stock hubs but I have fixed that issue with free spin kit.
2) Does dodge sell the steering set up in individual parts. As in, can i get just the drag link instead of the entire set up.
III) Is there and end to the madness????!!! Would the Thuren Fab x-over set up solve this issue once and for all??
Any help is greatly appreciated. I dont get to many posts out so my street credit on these sites doesnt get me much response

fixed for now
called dealer. they said if i bought the part within last 12 months they would replace for free 99!!!
luckily i had less than 3 weeks to make that work!
just got out from re-re-re doing my steering. have to say is a heck of a lot tighter. during my checks i had my son turning wheel left to right while i checked everything. i already see that there is some play at the pitman arm end of the drag link!!! im just going to go out on limb and say that dodge isnt really putting their best think tank on solving this problem.
now its a race to see what comes first....cash for thuren set up or rod failure
also noticed that the new dodge steering set up interferes with my Carli limit strap mount/tab. did some grinding and made some room but at full right lock it makes contact and moves the tie rod(right to left bar?)..... not sure if this may have been cause of failure but i will be looking to move mounting tab for limit strap a little next time i have front end apart. which this year thats been about every three months.
hope this may help someone in future
