Yes Sir!

I was hunting for a FP guage a while back and got quoted $290.00 for just a FP guage!

When I found DPP I was tickled!

Enjoy the findings!

Oh.. dont bother with the isolator... Just get the tubing and a needle vlave from NAPA...

Is the $120 price for a mechanical or electronic gauge?

No isolator for over 3 years, no drips, no runs no errors.

OK. So the CTD is in for it's turbo replacement (under warranty.) I mention the FP. Explain what I am seeing on the gauge. 5# at idle, 0 under accelleration or cruise. Technican standing behind service writer. Says that sounds about right. "About 7 pounds is the max." Then he says something about my gauge, which I knew would be the next thing out of his mouth. I explain further that I checked the FP at idle at the schrader on the injector pump where the FP gauge is hooked up and found essentially the same thing. Then he goes on to say that it should be checked at the fuel filter, that there's a high side and a low side test valve??
Again, not "We'll check it and see if we can make you a happy customer." So it will be interesting to see if the technican does ANYTHING with the FP......

Tell them that sniffing glue is not good for them... ....On 00 and later models, FP is to be checked at the "FACTORY SUPPLIED SCHRADER VALVE FUEL PRESSURE TEST PORT".....that is what it is for; for the techs to quickly and easily check LP pressure......this tech is clearly confused as only the 98.5 and 99 models had 1/8" pipe ports on the fuel filter canister pre and post filter, in which to test LP pressures.....sheesh!! They are not exactly instilling much confidence!

That "sounds about right" comment would have sent me into orbit!! What about their bogus "flow test" that they are supposed to do instead of the pressure test?!?! I thought that was now the only "acceptable" way for DC to verify LP performance?!?!

Yeah.... Well you know that is how I am feeling now. This is the second time in a few weeks that they have really not gone that extra mile.
You know, I know I didn't buy the truck there. I understand that. But the service center doesnt make it's money on vehicle sales. they make it on repairs of vehicles.
But this on top of the ball joint thing really has fried me.
When I bought my Expedition in PA and brought it up here, I took it to the local Ford dealership. My Dad takes his truck there and the service manager knew the name. But my Dad didn't buy his truck at the local dealer either. didn't seem to make any difference. I was always pretty well satisfied with the service I got.

There's a Fleet Service Center a couple of towns over. I may stop in there soon.

XP8103, if they don't replace the lift pump, just order one and replace it yourself, rather than drive it too long with low psi. I too just installed gauges a couple of weeks ago and saw <5psi @ WOT. My truck is still under warranty, but I decided it wasn't worth the hassle of dealing with a service mgr. and who knows what kind of mechanic working on my truck. I ordered from www.hoeslidiesel.com and I think at $139 they're the cheapest.

Well... I picked up the truck and WOW. Turbo is working now.

And they said nothing about the FP. I'm done with them. Ordered a new liftpump from Hoesli Diesel. Seem like EXCELLENT folks to work with.
