FP goes up with hard acceleration???
FP goes up with hard acceleration???
My fuel pressure was dropping, was about time to change anyway so went ahead and did it. bumped it twice to fill it back up with fuel and thought id do it one more time before trying to start it, and nothing. LP would not pump, no sound, nothing. Waited a little while tried it again and worked how it should. Still not very much pressure, about 8-10 psi. After a while it will slowly clime up to aobut 15 and once in a while up to 17. (BTW this pump was replace about 1.5 years back) tonight I needed to get on it a little bit while it was sitting at 10 psi and it went up to 15. Does this make sense to anyone? I am going to get a FASS II put on it but just want to make sure its not a bad FG.

The LP doesn't always pump when you bump the starter. Funny thing is, my '99 does. I had the same problem on my wifes '02.
The guage read low then high. So I did like you and checked the LP and noticed the pump didn't run sometimes when I bumped the starter.
I thought it was the LP so I replaced it and the same thing happened.
Well, I forgot to mention I pressure washed the motor two days earlier and must have got water in the FP sending unit connector.
So, I fixed the problem and now have a good spare LP
I would check out the BD lift pump and fuel line kit before going with the FASS. The BD kit addresses the hard start condition that some of us get when we put in aftermarket fuel pumps.
Good luck ..........Jim
Can't say enough good about my holley blue. Only time will tell how good it is. My buddy is trying to come up with some sort of plunger style LP to maybe fix all our problems-for less coin than a fass.
