Fix one, find another
Fix one, find another
I have a '02 2500 5spd. Off and on my rear calipers have been setting up, burning up brake pads and rotors. finally a got sick of replacing pads and rotors every 6 months so i ordered calipers. Pulled my truck into the shop at work and replaced them. I started to bleed my brakes and the pedal would not get hard, there is no more air in the system. Bled front and rear, even started at the master cylinder and worked out from there, RR, LR, RF, LF. Pedal seemed harder, started truck and pedal goes right to the floor. tried bleeding everything out again and no change. My brakes worked fine before a replaced the calipers other than the fact they would set up sometimes. When I pump the pedal it sounds like a air leak or something coming from the master cylinder. No lines are leaking (all but one is new). I have replaced the power steering pump on this truck twice in the 3 years Ive owned it. Brakes always come back once bled out. I have power steering though. Is there something in the "hydro booster" on the firewall that could go bad? or maybe the master cylinder is bad? Ive got good fluid at all wheels, just no pedal when truck is running. Also when I had it on the lift, I found out I had a bad wheel bearing, balljoints on one side, and front axle u-joints bad. Not a good day for me!
