I tried removing my fan and clutch as referenced in this thread:

I spent about 20 minutes hitting the wrench with a dead blow hammer and a mini sledge as well. That nut is stuck.

Any suggestions on how to free this thing? Any ideas on how to keep the fan pulley still to help removes the clutch?

 

They make a bar that fits over 2 of the pulley bolts, you could try that. Or make your own, I've done that, too, peice of flat bar and drill a hole for one bolt, and lean it against the other bolt for leverage. I have used a screwdriver stuck between 2 of the bolt heads before. It does work If you have 2 people.

 

If you're going to end up taking it off regularly when the temps get cold enough, just get the tools and be done with it. It's much less hassle.

 

You know its reversed threaded, correct?
