Re:fan belts

On my 12v it was about $35.00 to give you an idea. I know that you are should check the fan, fan clutch, and drive belt @ 30,000 or 24 months. Hope this helps some. -Anthony

Re:fan belts

well on my 12v it is easy. Now I don't know if it is even close to my 12v or not. But I just used a 3/8 breaker bar. On the belt tensioner there is a 3/8 slot just pull the breaker bar to your left, releasing all the pressure on the belt, pull the belt off. Then to put the new belt on get the belt on all the rest of the pulleys except the belt tensioner. Get the slack on the belt up close to the pulley on the belt tensioner so it is eay to reach. Get the breaker bar on there and loosen the tensioner and pull the belt over the tensioner. It might sound hard but it is really easy. It only takes like 5 min. After the first one it is really easy. So if my explanation is a little hard to understand. I am not really good at it. I hope this helps some. -Anthony

Re:fan belts

I changed mine at 70K. Once they begin the small crack/breaks on the ribbed side, it's time for a change. Mine was $30 at NAPA. How hard? I put my breaker bar on it and got it off just fine. To get the new one on and still be able to count to ten with my fingers, I had to put a cheater on it breaker. The only one I had was three feet and it worked real good.
