Rear Axle

new kid on da block. jus got da MAG-HYTEC diff cover for thee dana 80. went to several drive line shops. got different views on replacement lube. yet to remove da ole 1 to see if limited slip or not. any input? weight, synthetic, brand, etc...

I've always used standard gear oil from our farm. If you tow a lot, i've been told to use synthetic. I noticed no one had posted yet, maybe this will get it started for you.

I run Royal Purple 85W-140 in both Diffs. Others use Amsoil, Mobil 1 &amp; Valvoline. Lot's of choices... ;D<br><br>Tony

I am using Valvoline blend 85-140 and added the modifier. Now I do not have posi. Hope it comes back when I change it again.

I used Valvoline synthetic and did not add friction modifier. Limited slip works great with no chatter.
