Exhaust Manifold Cracks

Hey everyone, Our 99 3500 has had cracks in the exhaust manifold for awhile now. I was looking at it yesterday when i was taking the silencer ring out, and noticed that they are getting worse. There are about 3 of them, and one of them is fairly big. I was wondering i could tape up the cracks with High Heat Tape for now...until we get a new manifold, or sell the truck. Also was wondering how hot the exhaust manifold gets, so that i can get a good tape to handle the heat.

Thanks

Dinner

Look around for a used 01 or 02 manifold. There are lots around and they have superior metalurgy to the 99 manifold. Have seen several from time to time in the $100.00 US range.
