Do all years of the 1st gen body style suffer this problem?<br>I was thinking of having my rocker panels repaired this summer, but found the cowl was cracked on both sides. I'm leaning heavily toward finding an older crew cab to restore, will this have the same problem? How about extended cabs? Could the problem be from the weak door hinges, or maybe neading another body mount underneath to pick up some load? I'm not confident the repair panels will last long in Michigan winters from the bottom side. I certainly don't want to give Dodge money for something they should have fixed long before I got the truck.

 

I am pretty sure that all 1st gens suffer from this problem. Mine are in need of repair BADLY. As far as the reason for cracking, I dont know.
