Hello everyone,
I am new to the site as of a couple days ago,I have found much of this very helpful. This is my first diesel Dodge 01 4x4 ext cab long bed w/ auto & 355 gears. The truck has 36,000 miles on it. Besides changing oil & filter & air filter & fuel filter,is there any recomendations on other imediate servicing ? I hear some of you talking about the lift pump any concerns ? Also should I change the tranny fluid & filter now? I didnt have a factory manual with it. I am going to clean the IAT sensor. Thanks for that tip. Luke

Welcome to the site. Sounds like you found a nice truck.
As to whether to change the fluid or not, I am kinda funny about that stuff and would change it real soon. It really depends on how the truck was used and the condition of the fluid. If it is nice and clean with good color, it should be OK for a while. If it is kinda brownish and smells burnt, change it real soon along with the filter. I also change the power steering fluid and brake fluid once a year. Hey, it's my truck right?
You can send to www.techauthority.com and get an original Chrysler manual. I just ordered one for my sons 1994 truck and it was about $79 plus shipping. The newer ones are $99 I think plus shipping but well worth the money (just ordered one for my 99 Neon).
Good luck and enjoy.

eot I bought my 01.5 used from a local dealer. I went in and asked them for the service record and found out that the fluids had been changed. so it saved me from servicing the tranny again. If you bought from a dealer ask them for the maintanace record. If you bought from a private owner ask him about the service. If it has not been used to tow any grat amount the recomended trans fluid change is around 50,000 miles.
