EGT, Boost, questions

hello,
2002 dodge.
edge juice with attitude monitor.
4 inch exhaust.
200,000 miles
fass 100 or 150 fuel pump, I will have to look.

I hit 1385 on the egt the other day. getting on it hard. when it shifted into drive. the alarm when off is why I noticed it. I had the juice on the 5 setting.

what can I do to drop that down, or what is the best mod to do.

boost, it will hit 40 now and then. I thought the waste gate was supposed to limit it down around 26 or so.
is my waste gate stuck? or is it the chip making it go higher?

or how do you un stick a waste gate?

thank you for your time.

Your turbo is too small for that much fuel.

You need a bigger turbo. No real cheap way to get twins. An aftermarket intake and better flowing exhaust will help a little. Stock turbos are inefficient past 35 pounds. They basically just increase the temp of the air.

Stock boost is about 18-20. Perhaps you would get more answers in the perfornace area. the temps you are talking can melt the pistons.
Mine stock seldom sees 1000, pulling a 14k trailer, but I do not push it hard either.
A larger exhast should help lower temps, maybe a 5".

A super B is a fine turbo, and will knock down your temps. You'll want to open up the intake and exhaust to help it cool a bit better as well. 4" exhaust is plenty for any single turbo. If you can fabricate, you can build a set of twins for the price of materials, which should be less than $1k, depending on what primary turbo you pick up. You will have to deal with your tranny though, as that is the weak link.

my waste gate must be stuck then. I have seen it hit 45 on the attitude monitor.

I thought this was not so much a performance question. but a cure question.

I will try the hi po area.
thanks

Simple answer would be to back the Juice off to 3 or 4. The Juice has a boost fooler feature which is why it is allowing the turbo to boost up to 40 or so. I was in your shoes and went with the Super B and absolutely love it, efficiency range is up to 45 lbs, more than that and you'll need studs. Also make sure you have upgraded intercooler boots.
