i had some guages put on my truck last week by my friend he called me and said he would put them on while i was gone but my pyro guage is tapped in behind the turbo i always see the in the manifold dose it matter

Yes, you get a much more accurate and meaningful number from having the pyro mounted in the manifold. I had mine mounted after the turbo when it was first installed due to the fact that I knew I would be upgrading to a new manifold and turbo later.

After I upgraded and mounted the pyro pre-turbo, I was amazed at the differences. Obviously some of that had to do with the changes I made, but it was still amazing to me.

Pretty sure with the pyro set up post turbo you just need to remember to add +300 degrees F to your gauge reading to figure your actual EGT's. Some gauges are color coded for each pre and post setup for the warning/danger temp zones.

I think 950 would be you max temp if post turbo....Maybe someone running post turbo will chime in here

Whether or not you need to move the pyro depends on how far you plan to take your bombing. On a stock or near stock truck, post turbo will be just fine. It's actually better for figuring out when it's safe to shut down because you get a more accurate idea of the temps in the turbo.

Some people run both a pre and post turbo set up with a switch that allows you to view either. Extra cost, but it's just money right?
