E-brake adj, 4wheel disc

Can anyone tell me off the top of their head which way to turn the adjuster wheels for the emergency brakes on an 01.5 w/ 4 wheel discs. My adjustment for the cable has reached the end and it still won't hold the truck on a slight incline.

I'll answer this one myself......adjust the star wheel DOWN to adjust the e-brake pads on a 4wheel disc truck. Live-n-learn. KM

Ok I'm back on this topic. Adjust drivers side star wheel "up" to tighten and passenger side "down" to tighten the e-brake drum shoes for 4 wheel disc brakes. I actually bottomed out the drivers side by going down and had only the passenger side rear wheel holding the truck when emergency brake was applied.

I've always found it easier to just pull the wheels. Gives you chance to check things over. Last time I did it, I found I had a leaking hub seal, but you couldn't see it with a visual inspection from the outside.

It wasn't much of a leak but enough to take the brakes out on that side.

Yeah, I ended up disassembling both sides and cleaning out the drums for the e-brakes and lubing the adjusters. THere was a lot of dust and crud in there..but no leaks. Thanks, Kurt
