DRW to SRW

I think I may have found someone that wants to do the swap with me. I have searched but did not come up with a definative answer about the rear axel. Can we just swap out the beds and spacers, or do we have to swap the entire axels as well? I know for the fronts all you have to do is take off the spacer but am just not sure about the rear.

Anyone know for sure?

I know for a '99 the front hub pilot is slightly smaller for the dually than standard wheels. This would mostly cause a problem for the person converting their truck to a dually since the adapters would not fit on the hub.

I think the rear axle would need to be swapped.

When I converted mine to dual, I ran the dual inner wheel for a couple of weeks before I removed the bed. Did not look bad at all, looked rather tough. You could use four front wheel simulators on it.

The previous poster was right also the hub diameter is different so that the adapters will not fit without some machining. The rear axle will have to be changed as the spindels are longer on the dual axle.
