Difficult starting uphill

2001 has airdog start right off facing down hill but takes a couple attempts to start facing uphill. Any help would be great.

Sounds like you've got a leak and are losing prime. Air gets in your fuel lines and all your fuel runs downhill to the tank Check your fuel lines and connections for leaks.

sounds like it looses the prime for a short while facing one direction. Check for loose fitting connections between Dog pump and injector pump. Just a thought.

might be a dumb questions but if there were codes would the check engine light be on? I have no check engine light on. will plug in the scanner though

Not necessarily but its possible. Worth a look since you already have a scanner. Looking at the other responses, they are probably more correct that I am.
