Hello to all, Just installed fass about three weeks ago and now, Every once and awhile My truck will not start when hot. Always starts when cold, never had a problem until Friday (3/9). I will let pump prime and shut off, then crank but no start, no smoke=no fuel. Release and return to on postion let pump run for a few seconds, crank and will fire instantly. Some where I read about a similar problem after installing FASS. Checked all lines/connections all good. Don't know. Acts like vapor lock, but no such thing with diesel. If any one ca enlighten me please do so. Thank you.

If your truck had a bad lift pump on it before you installed the FASS system that is what is causing this problem. Your VP 44 was probably running on fuel pressure below 5 PSI before you installed the FASS. IF this is the case then the diaphram located inside the VP 44 is damaged . Which in turn means that you are probably going to be replacing a VP 44 very soon. MY truck does the exact same thing right now and I am running on a bad vp 44. You may want to check your codes. Dont be surprised if you see P0216 code, this is injection pump timing failure. You should check your fuel pressure as well, It might be to strong. Even a good VP will act up if pressure is to high.
