I ordered my filters (oil and fuel) from Geno's the other day. They came in, and I noticed the fuel filter looks allot different than im used to. Did they mess up? or has the filter configuration been revised??? I am so used to FF on the 97 12v. Has the config. changed from my 97 to my 01?

The part number is FS19579.

I havent tried putting it in yet. I just was wondering if I am going nuts.

Here is what I am used to seeing. 97-99

The one I recieved doesnt have the big plastic head on it. It is the same diameter on both ends.

Does a 99 have a diff FF than a 01??? I thought the housings where the same...

 

Yep my filter doesnt have that big top on it. It looks the same but doesnt have the flange looking top. Look like you got one for a different year.

from your picture gallery, I am guessing your truck is a 2001.

my truck is a 2001. So if your filter is different than the one in the pic, then I probly have the right one.

 

Yes mine is an 01. Sorry I thought it was in my signature block.

My 01 takes FS19579 so your good.

 

LF3959 is an oil filter......I am talking about fuel filters.

FS is thier prefix for fuel filter.
