Died VP44?

So the last time my VP died(3 years ago) it went out with a bang(literally) and left a onslaught of codes.

Well getting on the interstate the other day the truck missed and then died. I let the clutch out and it started right back up. I though I may be out of fuel or low as the fuel gauge was right around 1/8 tank. It ran fine to the gas station. I shut it off, filled it up and it would not restart. I had a buddy come help me, we tried bleeding it and it started right up. So I drive the 3 or so miles home no problem. Start it about an hour later and run an errand no issues. Go to start it yesterday, no start. Only code is 0234 overboost code. So is my VP dead. Fuel pressure was never less then 8psi but I was not watching it.

Hows the fuel filter look? Running a low tank can suck up a bunch of tank sediment.

Losing prime could be a loose fitting.

Usually throws a 0216 but not always.

I have pressure about 8psi. If i crack the bolt fuel filter housing I get tons of fuel. The lack of codes confuses me along with the fact that is didn't start after sitting 10 minutes but start fine after sitting for an hour.

That could be the circuit board in the vp.

Bluechipdiesel's website has good diagnostic info.

cam or crank sensor could also do that with out a code. I have seen them do that and sometimes only give a code while the engine was running
