Defective Flexplates for 89-2002 Cummins

There are some aftermarket SFI flex plates for sale on Ebag that are defectively designed! If anyone has purchased one get it out of your truck! The alignment tabs often don't fit tight onto the crank and the offset for the TC bolts is not enough causing a gap between the bolt hole and the TC itself. When the bolts are tightened this gap closes, warping the flex plate and pushing the center out, pushing the TC into the front pump and seal of the tranny and possibly into the bell housing as well destroying the TC, front pump and seal. Factory NOS is best!

FORWARD TO ALL ! ! !
This offset isn't enough causing the TC bolt holes to have a gap. bending the steel when the bolts are torqued and pushing your TC into the seal

Why don't you just buy from a reputable flexplate manufacturer?

yep i got one and sent it right back , it had sfi eched in the plate but not an offical sfi sticker !

ordered another one from a diff company and it was almost right , it has the sfi sticker !
with i problem it did not lie flat on the converter with a 1/16 gap behind the bolt holes to converter .
got some .060 washers and glued them to converter and installed slighty longer bolts and installed it with blue locktight on the bolts .
time will tell ?
it did fit the crank properly unlike the first one that did not .
