Dead pedal?
Dead pedal?
Could I get a more detailed description from those who have experianced the "DEAD PEDLE"? I know it means it seems like it does nothing, but how long, does the engine change sounds at all, does it seem like real heavy turbo lag? Is it like the throttle goe to idle or is it like it just won't advance the throtlle?

for me it is just a dead pedal. no acceleration. it seems like it picks up a few hundred rpms but that is it.
are you experiencing it? if so turn the key on and off, on and off and on and read the code in the odometer. p0216 is the dead pedal code. thanks to this great site and its members i have learned this much in the last 2 weeks. i need a new lift pump and vp44. lol

98.5 & 99 does not display info in the odometer.
I thought it would be dead long before now. It is only a bigger concern now because I don't have second truck handy to drag it somewhere. I don't wnat to eat a tow bill. Time will tell. I had a couple of times last week that it seemed to have terrible turbo lag but no smoke. It SLOOOOOWLY came up (RPM). It felt like a FORD FOCUS rental car I drove once. I nearly got hit makeing a left hand turn the response was so bad. you has to stand on it and wait.

mine never smoked either. It just felt like it was not getting any fuel and all power was gone. I actually lost RPM's quick because it always seemed to happen when I was towing uphill. The other thing it feels like is losing an intercooler boot.

FYI for those with dead pedal.... If you turn your ignition key off and back on while you are experiencing "Dead pedal" it will instantaneously take off like a rocket, especially if you downshift one gear 1st (std tranny of course)....
Good luck!!!
