Codes P1693 P1689
I have read what the mean but I dont know what to do.
I was driving the truck put the go pedal on the floor rpms hit 3000 and the truck cut out foot still on the pedal the rpm went to 2000 and the truck came back alive hit about 2400 and did the same thing. Then on came the check engine light.
I just installed a new IP and the fass. WOT pressure is at 14psi.
The pump wire is not taped. It did this on 3x4, 4x5.
Thanks

I went though this about a 2 months back.
On the P1689, the first thing to check is fuel pressure.
Then disconnect the battery's, clean the connections to the apps, ip, ecm and pcm. Also any inline connections between any of these. Look for any ground connections that need to be cleaned also.
After reconnecting the battery's unplug the ip, check the voltage to the top 2 pins should be the same as the battery the key has to be turned on. This is quick test to make sure the ecm is not bad.
Next reset the appps.
If all this don't work, the ip is going out.
Like I said I went though this about 2 months ago. I had just replace the ip, the new one was bad.
I had a Dodge mechanic give me the list of thing to do. The also said that most of the time with the P1689 code the ip was bad. The electronic in the pump are bad.
The P1693 is a conpanion code. This means you have codes set that will not show up with out pluging the truck up to a code puller.
Hope this helps you,
Rodney

Could be a possible bad pump, these symptoms are like my first VP44 faliure I have become quite the conassure of VP44 failures. Pull the code associated with the companion code and good luck,
