codes 0500 and 1693
I have my EZ sold so after I removed it and the turnbuckle, I started the truck and moved it over in the garage. Then I thought I would check for codes. Here is what I have:
PCU 0500
ECU 1693
Anyone know what they mean, or a web site that has a list of them?
Thanks guys, Scott
OH yeah- it's an 01, auto, 4x4 ;D

Check the FAQ under ODBII and ODBIII<br><br>From what I gather, 0500 is Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction and 1693 is Turbo Charge Control Circuit Malfunction. Don't know if that's what they are for sure, so you should probably verify that by going to the dealer, or calling them.

I thought 1693 was a generic "other code stored in ECM"<br><br>The PCM is a Dodge part, the ECM is a cummins part (or vice versa), the odometer only reads the codes in the Dodge part, not in the Cummins part.<br>(the reason Dodge can't dig deep enough to find all the codes created by the fueling boxes, but Cummins can)<br><br>I think,<br><br>phox<br><br>

0500 (vehicle speed sensor fault) is a pretty standard one to see if you've had an EZ on a vehicle. Typically caused by some moisture getting into the "weather resistant" : fittings used by Dodge. 1693 is simply a companion fault code to the 0500 had been set in the ECM.

You really don't need to do any mods to get these codes, all it takes is a loose connector.<br><br>It usually happens after putting in an EZ as you disconnect the connectors, probably loosening them a bit.<br><br>Double check all connectors under the hood, apply dielectric grease to any suspected loose ones, and take the truck to autozone to have the codes cleared.<br><br><br>phox

Re:codes 0500 and 1693
Well, I disconnected my batteries for about 20 minutes, hooked em up and drove to work and back. Codes are gone ;D. I appreciate the info. Sure isn't as much fun to drive without the box though [undecided]
Now if I could just get ahold of that blue sheep guy
Where are ya Rod? Hot date with Baaaaaaaabbbbbbbsssssss
In retrospect............. prolly shoulda waited for an exact price quote first...... price first, goof on later..........
