code po602
My truck is a 1999 cumings diesel ... 5 speed trans ... vin # 1B7MC336XXJ625617 ... Truck bucks like a horse with a needle in his *** ... I can disconnect battery cables and it runs great for a day or so then back to bucking again ... My fuel pressure gauge reads 15 idle and 12 going down the road ... My code was po602 ... what is wrong with my truck ? The guy that pulled up the code said ECM or PCM ... Then I read on here that thers no such thing as a bad ECM ... I don't mind buying a new part if it will fix my truck but I don't want to buy a new VP44 or a rebuilt ECM if its not going to fix my truck ... How can I find my problem before I start throwing parts at it ... If it is the ECM where do I get one ... All the parts stores ive called said we don't carry that ... Ive saw on here some guy name timbo may sell them ... Who is timbo ??? How much do they cost timbo ? I pull my backhoe with my truck , I need to be working feeding my family ... Help Please ...

Start with checking all grounds, check vp connection at rear of vp (could be loose or dirty). the p0602 is a ecm fueling issue. check the connection at the ecm, with batts. disconnected take connection loose and clean then reinstall. As to Timbo he makes APPS or throttle sensors.

I put my hand on the box just under the dash between my legs and felt the box clicking in side ... What is that box ??? the battery cables make a pretty good spark when I connect them ... the box could be central timer module. I'm not sure of all the things it controls. You can do a search on it here or other sites. One of the things it controls is a fused ingition switch output.
