1693 is a "companion" code, means there are other codes.

 

thats all the came up when i did the key on/off thing... it just said p1693 then said p-done

 

You have to have it hooked to a scanner to read the other codes.

you need to let it cycle longer and the injector pump code come after the 1693.

 

Huh? What do you mean "let it cycle longer"?

My truck's had this code for 6 weeks now. I've tried to clear it twice by disco'ing the batteries but it comes back.

 

The 1693 DTC is a companion code stored in the PCM that is telling you that there is another code not stored or retrievable through the PCM. Some ECM codes will not come up from code readers or key cycling and must be retrieved directly from the ECM by a DRB scan tool or similar scanner.
