What does code 1693 mean? Everything seems fine, but I clicked the switch on and off 3 times and got code 1693...

I believe it just means your computer has a code or signal but the 1693 code is not a specific problem. You can go to search and type in code list.

it's a companion code... could mean one of two things, the code that was set in the ECM isn't readable with the key trick or that code has been erased. Either way, to be safe you can probably go to an autoparts store and have the codes scanned.

 

do it agian, it will say done then go to the pcm and should (but not always) tell the problem code . let it go back to the milage before you turn it off.

 

I have the same code on my truck. You need to take it somewhere to get is scanned. Once you scanned it then you can give us another code, and atleast someone can tell you what it is. My symptoms is that the truck goes to a idel while going down the road. The code that came up when I got it scanned was 0212 or 0121 I for get. But if it one of those then it is the APPS.What are the some symtoms?

 

0121 is an APPS code...

symptoms vary.... when mine went I had erractic throttle response(felt like the truck was being jerked from the rear bumper)...
