clutch question from a newbie..

clutch question from a newbie..

i did a search couldent find anything. i have a 2001 3500 extra cab dually 4x4 with a 5 speed and my clutch is grabbing very high on the pedel. i tow a 2200 lb. trailer with either 5 quads or a full size chevy shortbed trail truck on the trailer. am i right to think my clutch is on its last leg? the truck has 63,000 on it.if so what is a good clutch for me and how much does a clutch job cost?

I suspect you have a hyd. clutch release??? So the real question is-dose my cluch slip? or act weird in any other way??
Leave sleeping dogs alone........the most you will have to do is replace it anyway

South Bend isn't thge cheapest clutch, but they are highly favored on Dodge diesels for their combination of smoothness and holding power.

a SBC will run about $800-$1000, plus another $400 or so for the install.

Depending on your power level, you'll probably want either a Con O or a Con OFE
