Re:newbie with a bomber question

Bombing is another way to say hot rodding. Crankin' out more hp and torque than you think could be possible out of a 5.9 liter diesel. Lots of things to see here, so happy shopping. The "bring a smile to your face" treatment is to get a torque plate, 3 or 4000rpm governer springs, 370 marine injectors, .191 delivery valves, Piers' HX 40 turbo, and an ATS exhaust manifold. There's more toys to get of course depending on how the truck is used, but the first thing to do is a set of gauges, or at least the EGT!

Re:newbie with a bomber question

Doodah, how much bombing depends on your power needs relating to working the truck or power for g-force playing. Spend some time reading and using the search feature. The info is there for our benefit.

The previous recommendation for an exhaust gas temp (egt) gauge was sound advice if you increase your fueling. More fuel is usually more egt. The pistons are suppose to start melting if temps are maintained at 1350 and higher.

Read, ask questions, understand the bombing you may do and enjoy the truck.

Jerry

Re:newbie with a bomber question

If you are planning on hauling livestock with that auto tranny, that would be your first bombing project. They just will not take the torque at low rpm.
