Yeah most tranny shops wont touch anything with alot of miles unless you are getting a complete rebuild. The reason behind this is because tranny fliud is highly detergent and as soon as you go and change the fluid and filter it will wash all the old friction material of the clutch disc's. After time the friction material becomes old and brittle but the tranny fluid is just as old so it all works together but when you go and change the fluid you better get ready for your truck to sit in the driveway!

Plus, it knocks stuff loose that was otherwise doing okay where it was.
