New Owner Checklist??

This is my first diesel truck and I'm trying to see if there is anything I need to have checked, or checked regularly, to make sure the engine and drive train remain in great shape. Its a 2004 5.9 with 101,000 miles. I've picked up a #3 injector line, because a friend said they are prone to fail on the road. I have it under the seat just in case. I've also heard there can be issues with the injectors themselves?? Should I take it in and have them run the codes? I've had the steering checked and it does have the newer linkage. Its also got the updated fuel pump. Thanks for any help.

you planning to stay stock? sounds like your on the right track with the fuel pump. I don't know about the number 3 line I thought it was the number 4 on the 06 year..... you got a auto or manual?

every other oil change I like to change my fuel filter so get a case of those...

I like to always run additive but I live in a cold area...

Im sure some others will chime in with some good info

Yep, I'm staying stock. Its got the 6 speed manual trany, I think its the T26. It may also be the #4 line,, I realy cant remember which one I picked up for sure. I'd have to look again. I also live in a very cold area during the winter months. We've been below 0* at times for a few weeks now. I've been running the diesel fuel addative most people run around here. Can't recall the name, but it comes in a gallon jug and its an amber color and I add 1.5 oz per gallon. I keep it in a tupperware container with a funnel and measuring device in the bed of the truck.
