No, the transmission cable in relation to throttle position. Google adjusting Dodge Cummins TV cable and you'll see what I mean.

Been through every ground on this **** thing, sanded, grinding and greasing and ungreasing every connection.
That's the voltage. The noise you really couldn't check with a VOM. Dirty brushes, diodes on the way out, bad grounds, etc in the alternator. All could make the 14.3 volts DC rms actually be anything from 0 - 110 a/c or d/c. In the frequency range that wouldn't fry the equipment outright but would make it work real wonky.
You might be old enough to remember before all these electronics that the ignition on gas engines could be heard through the radio, then they came out with suppression wires....move on to when the engine control computers were still young, if the shade tree mech switched out with the wrong spark plug wires all kinds of gremlins popped up. All because stray voltage was playing games with a computer control signal

You could try getting a new alternator. If it doesn't fix it you can return it to the store and your not out more than some wrenching time. We don't have spark plugs or high energy ignitions

found a crack on the backside of the big cable going to the back of the alt. I used shrink-wrap on the exposed area and no problems yet. Every time my truck does this I check for codes using key method and I get P0720 and P0743. I have a shop diagnostic comp and erased the codes. Been driving over a week now with no issues, yet. The longest Ive went is about 6 months and that was after cleaning and greasing all the ground wires.
