Do You Believe in Ghosts??
I was reading a similar topic on another forum I frequent and thought I'd pose the question over here.
So, how many of you believe in ghosts? Personally, I'm pretty skeptical of any ghost story that I hear. That being said, I do believe in angels...and I think that sometimes the "ghosts" that people see are actually angels. If you believe the Bible, then you know that there were many occasions in the Bible where people saw angels.
I think that the typical "ghostly encouter" is either someone's mind playing tricks on them or some way to to get some recognition. But, I do believe that there are angels walking the earth and I suppose it's possible that someone might actually see them on occasion.
So, what do you think? Anyone have any real life, first hand experience, without a doubt "ghost stories" they want to share??

I got one for ya!!!
My wifes aunt Chris, bought a $1.5 million dollar house in Aspen about 8 years ago. When she bought the house, the person who owned it had left a bunch of stuff in there, left some statues of midevil Knights and a bunch of swords and weapons...............stuff had to of cost a fortune!!! They were kinda of shocked that someone would just leave the stuff and not take it with them!
So to make a long story short, they kept noticing everytime they came home that stuff looked like it had been somewhat moved around. One of the statues appeard to have his sword in the opposite hand than the night before. And then they had this HUGE midevil AX above the fireplace. About 1 month after they moved in, they were sound asleep and the stinkin AX just fell off the wall and crashed onto the floor.
They next day, her husband Don got out the ladder and put it back up on the wall, that same night it fell again. So this time he took some wire and wired the crap out of the thing so it wouldn't happen again...........next night it fell again. All three times it fell, it happend at the same exact time every night. Needless to say they didn't put it back up.......
After about 3 months of stuff always happening and changing around on them, they put the house up for sale and left everything in the house and never looked back...............kinda creepy!!!
They said it was the most uncomfortable feeling they have ever had being in that house!!!!

Waaaay back in 1978 I rolled a truck doing 80 mph.
My heart stopped in the ambulance for 7 minutes out on the highway.
I saw it all from above the ambulance as I felt like I was floating away. I ooked out over the wheat fields and watched them sway with the wind and said; "Not right now." and BANG I woke up in the ER. Not really an angel story but truly a spritual one for me.
I did see an angel twice.
When I decided that liver damage and alcoholic seizures were not for me anymore I booked into a treatment center that was once a convent. I awoke one night to see an angelic figure at the window. I was on the third floor.
I looked over to see the guy I was sharing the room with was sitting up looking at the window too. I asked him if he sees the nun at the window.
His reply was..."That is an angel."
The figure was at the window for a good ten minutes and during that time I felt like all my withdrawal symptoms were gone. My room mate said the same thing for him.
We were in pretty bad shape when we got there. Now I felt like a new man.
We went downstairs and the lady that ran the place said we looked like we just saw a ghost. She knew what we saw and when we told her what had happened she explained it as best she could.
An elderly nun lived in that room for many years. When she passed away, her presence was always felt there. The lady told us that the experience we had was identical to anyone that stayed in that room.
I never had another drink since that day. Over 21 yrs now and my room mate was still sober last time I saw him.

Do I believe in Ghost??
Nope... I don't believe much of anything I can't see. But you probably knew that already.
They do make for some good stories though. I enjoyed them when I was a kid sitting around the campfire. It was always fun trying to scare the poop out of each other.

Congrats on the 21+ years Scotty that’s something to be proud of!
I believe people see things and I believe there is a reason for it just as in Scotty’s case. As far as making a distinction between the terminology used i.e. Ghost, Spirit, Angel, it’s an individual thing.
Hoss, I think the Bible also talks about people seeing other deceased people such as the disciples seeing Moses and Elijah speaking with Jesus. I think the disciples’ thought they were seeing ghosts. In addition, yes I do think some people make things up just to get attention for whatever reason.
I believe there is a spiritual realm consisting of good and evil. I also believe that our finite human minds will never truly understand its workings.
For those of us who have been blessed with an encounter from a spiritual being sent from God, we will never forget it, nor doubt its existence.

Hey Scotty, I've heard of near death experiences before.
Can you tell if it was real? Any doubt that you were actually outside that ambulance?
Here's a story I read a few years ago and kept the link. Pretty inspirational.

I don't know about 'ghosts', but spend a few hours in an Indian sweat lodge and I'll almost guarantee you'll see something. I know I did, and I was only 14, knew everything there was to know and didn't believe in ghosts, spirits OR God.
Definitely not something I will ever forget, nor do I want to!

I got another one I almost forgot about!!
My sister-in-law Stacy and her husband Tim go to Mardi Gras every year, and they always take pictures of cool looking houses and weird stuff. Well they happened to take a picture of this one house and when they got the pictures developed they notice a shadow in the picture that looked like a woman standing on the balcony.
The next year they went, they went back to that same house and took another picture..............got the same shadow as before. So far they have taken 5 pictures of the house over 5 years and in every single picture there is that same woman standing on the balcony. They even tried taking the picture from different angles of the house and that shadow always turns up.........................the pictures are kinda creepy!!

Seen and heard a few things I could not explain several of which occurred in an old house I lived in near Sacramento. I heard a small child crying, I thought it was my 4 yr old daughter who had been in bed for a couple of hours.
I left the living room and headed down the hallway, and stopped when I saw a small girl with dark brown hair, about 8 yrs old wearing a long nightgown, standing near the bedroom door sobbing.
I asked her "whats wrong honey?" she just faded away from view.
I will point out my daughter was much smaller and had long blond hair, she was asleep in the bedroom I had already walked past.
The room she was standing in front of was my 7 yr old sons room, he complained about not liking his room, but I did not really pay much attention to it as we had just moved there a week prior.
A couple of days later a friend was on leave and came to stay a few days with us, my son gave up his bed so he could sleep on the couch, felt like camping to him he was happy to do it.
About 1 am I heard a sound that woke me up, I went to check on the children and I hear it again coming from my sons room. My Army buddy was sleeping in there so I went to open the door to make sure he was OK. I could not twist the ****, it was locked only this was not a lockable door ****.
I could hear my buddy in the room and he sounded like he was struggling, I was going to either twist the **** off, or shoulder down the door by this point. Suddenly the door opened for me as if it always had, my buddy leaped up off the bed panting and short of breath.
He said he awoke feeling someone sitting on his chest trapping his arms at his side, he could not get off the bed. He said he could hear me trying to open the door, and just as I burst through it, the weight left his chest and he was able to get up. He refused to sleep in that room again.
I moved my sons bed into a 4th bedroom that we had been using for storage, and he never had a complaint about that room again. I never saw the little girl again either.
But I had a smoke alarm hanging on the wall just below the ceiling just outside that room, It went off at 1:15 am waking me up. I ran from room to room checking for smoke or a fire and found nothing. I left the cover open on the smoke detector disabling it and laid back down.
About 25 minutes later, the alarm went off again. I searched the house and garage again to find nothing. This time I jerked the smoke detector off the wall and took the battery out of it, laying them on the kitchen table about a foot apart. I went back to bed.
Less than an hour later the dang thing went off again! I went into the kitchen, the battery was back in the detector, and it was screaming wide open... I opened the door leading off the kitchen into the garage and threw the thing at the concrete floor as hard as I could, shattering it into a hundred pieces or more.
No more smoke alarm that night or ever again. The only people in the house that night were myself, my wife and my two young children. All of whom slept through this except for my wife who had little concern after the first time I told her it was nothing.
Do I believe in ghosts? I don't have a clue....I do know that something strange happened in that house and I will simply leave it at that.
We moved from that house a couple months later, nothing to do with what I experienced there.
I had another experience in my present home of 13 years when I first moved in here. I woke up about 3 am when my wife walked past my side of the bed carrying the laundry basket.
I thought it a bit odd that she was doing laundry at 3am, and asked her why she was doing laundry now? I heard her voice from behind me on the bed when she awoke and asked "what did you say?'
The laundry basket and the woman had vanished. I saw her one more time about a month later, early in the AM as before, carrying the laundry basket past the bed. I didn't say anything this time, and sorta chuckled to myself thinking how nice it would be if she would clean the garage when she finished the laundry...
I never told my wife about what I saw, heck I really don't know for sure WHAT I saw anyway. I often think of Einsteins theory of relativity and how he has proven that time is not necessarily the constant we may seem to believe it is.
I think my general impression over the visions of the Old woman and young girl were like a wispy view of a tape playing from something that happened in an earlier date and time.
The thing with the smoke detector, I hold in a much differing opinion, one I may never really wish to try to understand anytime soon

Believe it or not....I sometimes wonder if I do, and I was there.
Was at work a couple weeks ago, this was a Sunday, so the building was empty except for us TV people.
When I got there, the down button for the elevator was broken, I pushed it a couple times before realizing this, then had to move over to the freight elevator to get to the basement, where my "office" is located.
Hour later I came up for a smoke, went outside and did my business, then when I came back, the down button was lit up and the regular elevator doors were opening.
I thought, someone must be messing with me and pushing the button, then running off, went down and worked for another hour.
Came up in an hour for another smoke, after the elevator doors closed, I tried the button, and it was still broke, wouldn't lite up or call the elevator.
Did my business, came back in and once again, the button was lit up, and the elevator doors opened right as I got there.
Went back down till the next smoke break.
About an hour later, came back up, checked the button, still broke.
Went outside, but kept glancing in to see if I could see the culprit, didn't see anyone,
glanced in right before I was done, and the light was unlit.
To get back in I have to go around a corner, so I can't see the button for about 3 seconds, by the time I got around the corner, the light was lit again, and the elevator doors opening for me.
Since we moved to this building, there have been a couple instances of the lights slowly dimming, then coming back up.
We have dimmer switches,
but they are right by a set of stairs that you can not walk up or down without making noise (clump, clump, clump).
When the lights have dimmed, I quickly looked over in the direction of the switches, and didn't see anyone messing with them, nor did I hear anyone going down the stairs.
If it was a power problem, the UPS's would have screeched, or the many TV monitors in the room would have dimmed or shut off completely, not to mention the myriad of transmission alarms we have if the power flickers or browns out for anything more than a second.
Couple times I've heard someone coming up or down the stairs, but no one apeared at the top of them when the noise stopped.
I've even ran over to the stairs to catch whoever was coming up, as they seemed to be stomping louder than normal, trying to draw attention to themselves, but again, no one was there.
I am very skeptical of ghost sightings, but these instances gave me the *******.

Wife told me yesterday she left the house about 9:30 am and went out the garage. I have a stereo that has to be turned on with a push button. The stereo was off when she left. When she got home she went in the front door and about her business. She hears music and cant figure out where it is coming from. Goes in the garage and the stereo is on! I cant figure it out, but its too quiet in this house right now to be reading these stories all alone!!!
Heres one you all may enjoy, especially those of you who live in the buckeye state... http://www.forgottenoh.com/
