The only "ghost" I have seen have been from smokin....... well I'll leave that to another fourm.

There is NO such thing as ghost. It is all a figment of imagination. The brain can make you believe funny things.

I have been told that Women are more receptive to these "feelings" Well my wife is one of them, and since we been together for a while I pick up on some things as well. One of our stories invloved driving to OK to pick up the 70 White Newport in my pic gallery. Well on the OK toll road, around midnight, I noticed no other cars passed us from the other lane and no cars were in our lane. My wife told me to slow down. saying something about someone being dead. She was starting out her window as if she was watching something next to the truck. Well coming up over a hill traffic was stopped. There was a bad wreck A truck driver fell asleep and caused 5 trucks to wreck 3 fatalities. All in all before we got to the wreck, see said see saw "shadow people" running along the road. She describes them as just shadows, dark figures.

Not quite a ghost story but........She really good at calling things before they can happen, hell she even sent me a messeage to not wear my seatbelt at one time. It did save my life. The seat I was in was crushed in a car wreck. about 6 months after we started dating (97)she told me about a nitmare she had. I was killed in a car wreck involving a red car and a silver car. Silver car was flipped over. Well in '98 we were going to a friends house, my 2 frineds and I left, She almost started crying begging me to not go. I still went with 2 friends of mine. Told her dont worry I'm not even driving. ( a couple of us were drag racing in a parking lot after night school, nothing happened just left before the cops came) Well on the return trip, tac bell, 7-11, I grab my seatbelt and a "presence" maybe, told me not to where my seat belt. I decided not to. Turning into the apt complex, a Silver Cougar t-boned the Red inetgra I was in. The Cougar flipped over and slid 300 feet before hitting a curb and stopping. The drunk driver got out and ran.

2500CTD's wife is alot like my exgirlfriend. She had the same uncanny ability to know things before they happened. Also she would have strange dreams. After the identical dream happened 3 times we all started to heed her warnings as they bacame true within a week. Her dreams covered it all. car wreaks, friends getting caught drinking under age by the cops, people getting sick or dying. It was totally strange.

2500CTD's wife sounds a lot like Mr Ma- my old Chi Gong teacher. He did say that women tend to be more sensitive. Even in *this* thread I cannot say much without being thought of as a total nutjob, but I will say if you know someone with an uncanny sense of intuition- then trust their judgement I will say this much- it is possible to catch a glimpse of the future and in moments like that time is irrelevent/nonexistant. Mr Ma and his instructors are *very* sensitive- they's be talking and I'd have a thought about the subject and they'd respond to my thought before I even opened my mouth. Weird stuff.

Interesting stories that some of you folks are posting. Keep them coming. If nothing else it makes for a good read.

Personally, I have never experienced anything that was "paranormal"...which is why I'm very skeptical. In fact, in most cases I just dismiss "ghost stories" as a good imagination. But, there are certainly things that happen in this world that we can't understand...and I DO believe in angels...so combine the two and what do you get??

Things that make you go "Hmmmmm...".

I have been trying to think if I have ever experienced anything abnormal and it just came to me!!!

When I was about 12, my parents left to go out one night and my brother was out with his friends leaving me at home by myself. I often stayed home by myself a lot just because I wanted to and where I lived was probably the safest place on the planet. We lived on a farm that sat way back off the road and at night was always dead quiet..............except for those dang coyotes!!! Even trucks driving down the road were never heard.

Well this one particular night, I was sitting in the living room watching TV and kept hearing a sound like a truck driving around the house. This of course made me curious because nobody ever came down our driveway unless it was somebody we knew and at night whenever somebody came down the driveway there headlights lit up the entire living room. So I get up off the couch and look outside and I see nothing but still here the noise...................so I walk outside and still see nothing but still hear the noise. I walked all the way around the house with a flashlight trying to figure out where the heck it was coming from.

The weird part about it was our driveway split taking you to either side of the house. Well when I would walk to one side of the house the noise would be coming from the opposite side, so I ran to the other side and it started coming from the side I was just at. I was a pretty tough kid and not much scared me, but this was kinda freaking me out.

I then ran inside and grabbed my dads rifle and sat out on the porch trying to be prepared incase I had to defend myself. I sat on the porch for 3 hours that night just listening to that truck driving around occasionally stopping and idling for awhile. Just about the time I was ready to give up and go inside I heard the truck shut off and two doors shut!! So needless to say I about Edit myself so I hid behind our hottub just listening. I couldn't hear much but a couple guys laughing ( no talking just laughing ). I stayed out there just listening for what seemed to be hours and I never saw a thing.

The next thing I knew I got a tap on my shoulder scaring the ever living Edit out of me to turn around and see my dad standing there...............I was so into listening to that truck and the laughter that I never noticed them come home and park their truck in the garage that I was sitting not to far from...???? My dad asked me why I was sitting out there with a gun, and not wanting to worry him I just told him I there were a couple coyotes that were up by the house and I wanted to shoot them. From that very moment he tapped me on the shoulder I never heard that noise again.

I still to this day cannot explain what it was or anything close, all I know is that it wasn't my mind playing tricks on me, there WAS something out there but what it was...............................?????????

~Nick

EDIT

I forgot to add this!!!

Every single night out there, all you could here were the coyotes, always yipping and just making a bunch of racket. I honestly can't remember a night when I never heard them......except for that night. I never once heard a peep out of a single coyote.....maybe it was just coincedence but very ODD

That is exactly what it felt like!! I was thinking that it was my brother being the D*** he was, that he was just screwing with me trying to scare me. Well it wasn't him but whatever it was sure scared the bajesus out of me!! I always hoped that it was just my imagination, but it was SO REAL that I don't see how it could have been...........

When I was 17-18, my folks built a house. While under construction, some pottery and indian artifacts were discovered, but the contractor kept it hush and we did too. Anyway, my parents went out of town often, leaving me by myself several weekends. More than once after I had come home from a date, I would be on the phone with my girlfriend and would hear the sound a drawer or cabinet door slamming. We had a security system with infrared sensors that were activated downstairs when the alarm was set.......all the bedrooms were upstairs. Nobody was in the house except me, and it wasn't like I was dreaming or sleeping or anything. At some point in time after I married and moved out, my younger brother saw some white life form in the kitchen early one morning. I don't think my folks or little sister ever experienced anything in that house.

I also have a cousin that is the definition of a MAN.......in that he doesn't get scared. Anyway, he told me of a hunting trip where he and some buddies had a camper setup and agreed to meet there and get up the next morning instead of making the drive early in the morning. He was the first there that night, went in, got to bed. He said he heard something at the other end of the camper and thought it might be some animal or else his buddies pulling a prank on him (the camper had no elec., but you could see a little by the moon light). Then he said he heard footsteps coming towards him from the other end so he grabbed his hunting knife and stood up. He said it got to him and it was black and he couldn't see through it. He said something to it like, "let's go", ready to duel or something. Nothing happened and he opened the camper door and went and got in his truck and slept the rest of the night in the truck. He said his buddies made fun of him the next day........but none of them ever slept in that camper after that.

I need to research this sleep paralysis thing. I have had moments where I was dreaming that something bad was happening (like someone breaking in) and I kind of give a weak shout in my sleep. I usually end up waking my wife and myself up. When I wake up, it feels as if what I was dreaming really happened and I was watching it as a bystander but could do nothing about it.

What a coincidence!

A few minutes ago, while reading this thread, I got a call from our shop supervisor. She was asking about an entry on a work order. She recognized the text as something she would write, but it was under my name. We couldn't explain how it happened. Her words, ''.. must be a ghost or something..''.

I've never been a bystander. It always felt like I was awake, but I just couldnt do anything. Totally paralyzed. One time I remember I couldnt see anyone around me, but I could hear footsteps. Another time, I seemed like something was hovering over me,, kind of holding me down. My wife has had the same dream. During the dream, we both recognized the dude hovering over us as satan. Definetly makes you get closer to that warm body next to you when you wake up...lol.

This other one is kinda funny. I moved into the house we are living in now just before we got married. She was still living at her parents house. So one night I was sleeping real good, and all of the sudden I was woken up by a loud, loud sound that sounded like a propped plane was buzzing over my bed..lol. Well, after my heart stopped beating through my chest, I looked around and noticed that my high powered fan had walked across the linoleum, and rested against my closet door. This made a freaking loud vibration. It was enough noise to wake up an army. I still laugh about that when I think about it.

later.

I have to agree with Britt on this one. Our minds play some serious tricks on us. There is a certain part of our brain that makes us susceptible to superstition. Some of us have it, some don't. I don't. Maybe a teeny bit but then logic takes over. You'll never see me rolling on the floor talking in tongues unless I'm having a heart attack.
But I have had some fun as an elevator mechanic. Even with setting and resetting buttons from up in the machine room. With the new electronic microprocessor controllers, we can do all kinds of things. Even make the floor position display read out messages as the elevator passes floors. The best ever was a building with someone jumping in the elevator and setting the safety switch every day about the same time. I rode on top of the elevator the last day it happened. When the two teenage girls got in it and started up the hoistway bouncing away, I stopped the elevator between floors, screamed like someone was killing me, and dumped my toolbox out on the car top. Then silent. The girls were screaming and crying. I released the cartop stop button, let the elevator level at the next floor and open the door. They ran out crying and screaming. I got a call that the elevator made a horrible noise and trapped some passengers. I found no sign of any trouble and the elevator was runnng fine. Silly girls. Musta' been a ghost! Didn't have any more safety switch trips either.
A simple knock on the side of the elevator from the hoistway will scare the daylights out of most who know of an elevator shaft as "the dark hole" where boogers hide. A weary moan works too. Not too loud, just eerie...
