Can someone explain this to me?

OK, I have had the surging thing a thousand times now. Everytime I clean my battery terminals and cable connections it goes away. For about a week. Why does this only last a week? It does work though. Should I replace my batteries? What can I really do to make it go away? thanks

Check the main grounds as well, PCM/ECM ground in particular.

Wouldn't hurt to have the batteries load checked, most auto parts houses will do it for free.

I had the same problem, over and over, just like you. There is a connector for a single heavy wire (I don't remember if it was a ground or hot wire) just about under the right side battery holder. Once I removed the connector and spliced the wires the problem went away and never returned.

Good luck.
