Boost?

What was the boost you were seeing before the EZ? The boost gain isn't alot with just an EZ from what I remember, my gains came with injectors. I left mine stock with 20psi of boost with just the EZ and that was just fine.

Your picture of your boost elbow is installed correctly and will delay the opening of your wastegate, while the EZ will fool your MAP sensor into only seeing stock boost numbers no matter what boost you produce above that level. With extra fuel your wastegate should delay to about 30-35 psi for your HX35, but you won't see that without injectors.

What kind of load are you putting on the Cummins to get your boost numbers? Also if you have a leak you MIGHT see your gauge fluctuate while trying to maintain max boost.

My truck came with the HY35 so my numbers could vary from yours due to the difference in turbos and my wastgate deactivated for the injectors:

Stock- Would hit 21psi peak with 20psi maintained
EZ - Left it at 20psi
EZ & 275's - Maintained 29 psi
EZ & EDM's - Maintains 34 psi

When I had my Comp hooked up as an EZ (no pump wire), I could hit 35 psi very easily. That's with stock injectors. A bunch of people running the EZ are seeing more boost than what he's seeing. Heck, I even cracked 40 once with the comp/ez. He's got a leak somewhere.

Stock - 21 PSIG boost @ 1300 degF preturbo EGT
EZ with elbow - 30 psig boost @ 1100 degF preturbo EGT
EZ with elbow, DD2's - 34 psig boost @ 1225 degF preturbo EGT

The boost levels and EGT's noted above are the maximum seen when towing our 13,500 lb 5th wheel.

I can get 33# with wastegate spring, EZ and auto trans, stock injectors.
It is 21# with or without EZ and without wastegate spring.
