Boost ?

Ok I searched......

Specs are in my sig line. I run EJA on level 5/3. (I do have the pump tapped and the boost elbow installed) Even while towing. I've never really got much smoke. Which is fine I aint really into smokin just POWER.

Pullin a hard hill (6%+) out of OD with 6000 pounds in tow turnin 2800 RPM and I only see 23 pounds of boost. EGT's are mid to upper 1200's while runnin 65 MPH.

I did a drag check empty today and the most I could get out of it was 25 pounds.

My question is: Shouldnt I be seein in the high 20's to 30 PSI boost on level 5 at that kind of RPM?

Thanks for any help.

I'd suspect the wastegate is being blown open by exhaust pressure, try locking the wastegate shut to confirm(or lengthen the actuator arm to apply more pressure to the gate

by pass the waste gate with a plug in the intake side of the turbo and see if it makes boost, id probably leave it that way and just set the edge to defuel at 40 lbs of boost, or 35 since your probably around 350 hp

Edge will defuel automatically if you have max boost set too low/ egt set too low

I get close to 30psi on an hx with 80hp injectors and the juice on 5x5 0r 6x5, and thats with the wasted gate lock wired shut, prievious all I got was 20-23psi

Is the Edge "de-fueling" adjustable?

I find it ironic that I dont get much smoke out of the truck even on Level 5/5. I cant help but think I'm not gettin enough fuel to run the boost up to the 30's?

if you double tap the lower button it will, give you a screen that allows you to turn the safeguards off for a pre-selected time. once you have done this the power level in the corner will blink while safeguards are off

I read that in the book.......Thanks

I am still kinda confused and thinking I should see more smoke. I can't "fog" at all. I generally run the edge on level 5/3. Sublevel 3 so max fuel doesnt kick in til 10 PSI boost which I am under at cruise/empty.

if you run with all the safeguard off and notice more smoke and power then you will know for sure IF the edge is defueling or not.
you can also pull up your backdown screen and as it defuels it will show a % of how much the edge is backing down your power

Update:

I talked to Edge today and they walked me through my settings and I noticed one that I didn't catch when the unit reset itself.

-Year of the truck; Options are 98.5-2000, 2001 or 2002. Well it defaults to 98.5-2000. I changed it to 2002 and boom, got 34 PSI of boost back......

Still doesnt explain the lack of smoke on Level 5.

Calling Edge back tomorrow......
