well fellas, i did a search on here for this very same issue for the father in laws truck.the search indicated a faulty starter.so he had a mechanic friend of his check it out and he changed the starter after his testing showed it to be the problam.well today mother in law calls and says the truck is dead, yup yoou guessed it the 30 amp fuse was burnt.so now were to start to look at wireing issues.

 

What about bad solenoid contacts?

 

would that still be the case with a new starter installed?

 

isn't the solenoids separate from the starter?

 

The switch on a Denso starter is part of the drive end housing assembly. You change the starter, you change the contacts also.

 

Check the condition of the big wiring going to the starter, I had the end corrode off of mine and it was doing the same thing you describe.

 

Ya, sounds like wiring to me.
