I know the 24 valve 2nd gen was around from 98.5 through 02. But I want to know when Dodge did any upgrades to the engine or drivetrain between those years, if their was any. I also would like to know if their was a year or two with engine problems.

2002 is the best year. 4 wheel disk, all the latest & greatest updates, no 53 blocks.

 

01.5 and 02 are pretty close to the same. both had 4 wheel disks.

and the vp's are supposed to be better...

I think we determined that 2001 was the best year as in '02 some very minor stuff got deleted.

 

2001 I have one and it's great

 

2000,has better PCM programming for lockup in 3rd at WOT,like the 01-02's.stronger front end,but no defueling off the line like the 01-02's.VP44 is better than the earlier or later ones.

 

2001.5 really like mine,I better for all the mod's I have put on. Bombing bug really take's control. pipergsd
