bd 2 low kit ?
bd 2 low kit ?
I was just wondering if the BD 2 low kit was a good alternative to manual locking hubs. I seen it in the genos garage catalog and tried a search to see feedback. It says that when in it doesn't run the wheels through the t case. does anybody have one and how good is it?
2 lo is 4 lo without engaging the front axle disconnect, it's good for maneuvering heavy trailers in tight locations on dry pavement, manual locking hubs disengage the wheels from the axle shafts.

All it really does is keep the vacuum from reaching the front axle, guys have just bought a valve and done the same thing.
Posiloc 4X4 removes the vacuum completely, and no worries about your front axle not engaging later....... More expensive though.

I got my 2 lo kit from Pacbrake years ago for about $85. One of the BEST things I've done to my truck. Makes maneuvering and parking trailers immensely easier, and I find myself using 2 lo for all kinds of situations. Well worth the money. I have my solenoid switch mounted down by the transfer case level so I can easily activate 2 lo when going into 4 lo. Lockable hubs are extremely expensive since the Dodge Dana 60 needs a retrofit kit to accommodate the new hubs.
Yeah, I think I'm going to do the 2 low kit and maybe some day when I have enough money do the posiloc. I'll definitely check out pacbrake. Ive read all about people converting to manual hubs with old ford parts and so forth. That's probably something I would never get around to doing.
