I just replaced everything on my 02 and after counting the threads and measuring twice I still had to get it aligned. I also have a DSS mounted so it helps. If you have the money replace everything and have it alignment done. Rule out all possibilities.

Any loose joints need to be replaced before alignment. Check all closely while someone pulls the steering wheel back and forth 1/4 turn, easiest way to find out if the track bar is shot. You may also see the sector shaft on steering box (pitman arm) moving around a bit. DSS or similar steering brace stops that as said above.

Then have it toed in 1/8" inch.

In my readings and experience, trac bar tends to go first, which results in ball joints and tie rod ends slacking out.

Steering box can also be affected, but usually the parts closest to the wheels go bad first.

Check end bushing at axle as mentioned above regarding trac bar...

I would suggest installing a 3rd gen track bar instead of any OEM bar. Get the adapter and be done with it once and for all. DSS stabilizer is a great upgrade too.

150-200 for the steering box brace depending on brand and roughly 500 for the track bar conversion kit w/ adjustable track bar
