Unhappy Battery Boxes

I need to change my battery boxes, owner before me for some reason made a real cluster job of them and I want to replace them both. I almost had one out and I think I think I found a blind rivit or bolt below the box. Has anyone ever replaced these before and any suggestions are very welcome.
Thanks in advance for any help, I just want to do this right and once.

What year is your truck? There is a heat sensor under the passenger side battery on my 01. The fender liner makes it pretty hard to get to the bottoms of the trays. Kurt

Like boxes with sides? Or just the normal trays? What years did those come on?
