Bad Fuel?????
I have a puzzler.
I filled up with fuel and within 3 minutes started having problems. I assumed I gof fuel with a bunch of water in it. Symptoms are a surge at idle between 1600 and 1800. When applying throttle it seems to miss like a gasser. Occassionally, it will completley shut down. I have been releasing fuel from the filter and that seems to help for a while. I have also added fuel additive that is supposed to handle water.
Either I have a bad load of fuel or am having problems with fuel delivery. When I pull the fuel filter, the canister if full so I don't think it is the lift pump, but that is a possibility.
Of course, this happened 40 miles from home after a 1500 mile pull with the trailer.
I managed to limp home and have been letting it idle in the driveway now for 2 days trying to burn off 3/4 of a tank of fuel. I have to watch it closely as it will have problems. This could take awhile if it is bad fuel.
Anyone have any guesses as to the problem?

I've read some posts where an additive was used to null the water-in-fuel issue, you might search for "Water in Fuel";
It sounds like you're right on the money, with it happening immediately after a fuel change....any codes? There's always the hopefully-long-shot possibility that your APPS needs to be re-taught or - groan - your VP decided to go bad.

The first thing I did was add a fuel additive to handle water.
I can't imagine that the VP or the lift pump would fail at just the same time. Too much of a coincidence for me. I am worried that I could damage the VP the way the thing just arbitrarily shuts down periodically. That would really hurt!
