auto tranny problem
a strange problem just started with my truck. any time you let all the way off of the throttle and it is in OD it seems to down shifts into 3rd. It feels strange to be going 70 and let off and the rpm's go up to 2800 rpm and the engine starts braking the truck down. It also does not seem to shift in to OD like it used too. I have done a search but did not find anything quite like this.
any one have any ideas as the what could be the problem?

hopefully someone has some idea what could be the problem. I have wrapped the wire that runs over the alternator with aluminum foil and cleaned the battery cables with no change in the problem. I am not getting any codes on my scanner. not sure where to look next.

I don't know what it is, but I know how I would narrow it down. First I would put in a switch to lockup the converter. Here is the link how to do it http://www.tstproducts.com/Torque%20...p%20Switch.pdf
Then drive the truck and lock up the converter when it is in OD. If it still does it now the problem is mechanical not electrical. Check the Throttle Valve and linkage. If the problem is not there then the problem is more than likely in the valve body. i.e. stuck valve. If it does not do it with the converter locked then it is electrical. i.e. 3/4 shift selenoid, wiring, computer, tp sensor, speed sensor, ect. I am thinking stuck or sticking valve in the valve body. You can go to a parts store and ask for "Smart Blend" or "Lube Guard" in the red container. Put it in and drive the truck 5 miles if the problem goes away it is fixed if it doesn't do the above and narrow it down. "Smart Blend" works wonders.
