Auto Tranny guys, please advise!!!

My friend came over today & we took a ride in his 98.5 Dodge automatic. His truck has a Torque converter & valve body upgrades with a shift kit. The truck won't hold rpms higher than 52mph before going into lockup & that is right in the middle of his powerband. He wants to know if this can be set higher & how to do it, the cable has been adjusted in/out with no luck, only makes it shift faster. sometimes the truck shifts into lockup just pulling out from a stop sign if he doesn't hold it down. Is the computer causing the shifts? How to adjust this? I don't know automatics!

Lock-up and OD are both controlled by the computer. It is preprogramed in and not adjustable.
The throttle position sensor ( actually called APPS) is a input to it.

Can the signal be altered? Is there a "you adjust the APPS & tighten this screw" kinda thing to adjust the shifts? Maybe like a resistor inline to alter the voltage output from the APPS or something?

I don't know!!
But, anything electric can be adjusted!! Just have figure it out.
But that signal input to the computer may affect other things.
Being able to just change the lock-up point would be sweet.
About 52 -55 is where I'd like it.
BTW, a few years ago I had a v-10 dodge that got right at 10mpg. on a bet with a guy, I built a box that jumped that mileage to 13!!!! And it ran better. Oh, he never paid up, said I had to have cheated some how!!!! I just modded the o2 sensor signal.

My friend just called & said that he took his power wire for the Adrenaline & hooked it up to a different fuse in the box & the shifts are not jumpy like they were. I guess the fuse that he was hooked to had something to do with the tranny? The Adrenaline must have been pulling too much power or something?
