Comp advise with stock auto tranny.

I have a Blue Chip pump cover that's been sittin' in the garage for 8-9 months.
I'm very tempted to "do the wire" on my Comp but I'm wondering how long my auto tranny would last if I keep it on level 1 or 2. Currently 40K on stock trans.
Just got daughter another car and $$$ are low.
Can't afford a DTT or ATS 'til spring.

Opinions, experiences? ???

When I bought my comp, everyone advised against the pump wire until the tranny was upgraded! Well, thursday i'm making the trip to get my DTT tranny installed at MassDiesel! So, the pump wire will be connected then! I suspect the stock tranny wouldn't last long, but then again, who knows?! ;D

Tony

It stinks, but it's a fact that it wil trash your tranny. Now if you are SURE that you can keep it under level 3, only keep it on level 1, and 2, then go for it, but self-control is a hard thing sometimes.

Andrew

If you going to keep it on 1 or 2 why hook it up? Take it from someone in the know......if you hook it up, you WILL use the power and you WILL toast the tranny. Mine lasted less than a year after I did the dirty deed and I was being "reasonnable"(by my standards anyhow! LOL) daily on 3/3 with a"few" burst on 5/5. My TC was gun barrel blue when we got it out! ;D I don't worry about my tranny anymore.............

Glenn
