APPS Sensor Death

I was driving my truck Saturday, and got the famous dead pedal. Shut the truck off, and restarted a little later, and all was well again. When I got home pulled the codes, and got 0121 & 1693. I ordered a Timbos APP, and await it's arrival this week. My question is should I be afraid to drive the truck before I can install the new one. If you have had this happen to you, how did it go? Thanks very much for the replies.

There's a few things which can cause the APPS to fail. It can simply fail or be affected by voltage/amperage levels out of parameter from things like corrosion, battery condition, loose connections/grounds, and especially from an alternator creating excessive AC noise. Here's some articles on how to test the APPS and the alternator.
