99 nothing in the interior works
So, i got this 99 2500 Auto 24v . It has 45,000 original miles on it. Guy i got it from had it stolen from him, they drove it into the local creek, truck was recovered an hour later. All fluids changed. And guy drove it after that for 4 months no issues. All of a sudden he had "issues" and thats all i was told.
I buy the truck, starter was removed, so i reinstalled the starter put a fresh battery on the driver side and lift pump immediately ran with key in "off position". Truck fired right up and runs good. So i Removed ignition switch from column and put it in my 01 and turns out its stuck "on". So i installed a new switch in the 99. Now the lift pump and a few fuses inside the truck dont have power unless the key is on. Perfect! Fixed one issue
Checked fuses in cab and under hood, all have power when theyre supposed to. "I.O.D" fuse was blown and "seat belt" fuse was blown. Replaced them.
But my main issue is, nothing on the truck works except the Engine itself and the third brake light.......no running or head lights, no radio, no gauges, no power windows or locks and mirrors dont work. Nothing on the gauge cluster at all. Literally nothing works on the truck except the third brake light. Also, with engine running the alternator is not charging. But i didnt expect it to.
So i installed a known good 1999 Auto cummins PCM....still nothing.
So i did some reading on the "CTM" to the right of the steering column. Its basicly the sAme function as a "BCM" . I removed it and took apart and found ALOT of corrosion.
Now i ordered a new CTM but i doubt that could cause EVERYTHING on the truck to not operate. so im eagerly waiting its arrival, in the meantime
Any other ideas or things to check? I did all basics...checked every possible ground, have power at all fuses and all relays.
Thanks
Brandon

Picture getting in the cab of your truck with no batteries in it and thats what its like getting into my 99 with a fresh battery....EXCEPT, it starts runs and drives. Kinda spooky. Like something youd expect after a zombie apocalypse
That CTM ..MAY...be the issue...that's what I would replace.
That's the main 'box' everything plugs into.
I had a '97 Dakota that ended up having a bad one...took forever to figure it out. Mostly my gauges / cluster would start going crazy, I forget what else & it still did it after I replaced the cluster.
